KINGS OF INDIGO

Kings of Indigo (K.O.I) makes quality denims, tops and accessories inspired by American classics with a Japanese eye for detail. All Kings of Indigo items are designed to last long. Every garment is made with a conscience, the Kings use innovative and sustainable production techniques where they can. Kings of Indigo's collection is mainly made from environmentally preferred fibres such as recycled or organic cotton and processed in a sustainable way. Over 90% of raw materials are sustainable. The organic cotton is GOTS certified. The denim fabrics containing cotton are GOTS certified (if not, it contains linen or TENCEL lyocell). Most of the fabrics used in woven tops are organic coMon, linen or TENCEL. They don’t use any of the chemicals mentioned on the REACH list, which means amongst others no chlorobenzenes, azo dyes or heavy metals. Kings of Indigo uses recycled yarns as much as possible. First the old fabrics and clippings are cut into fibers. Then these fibers are spon into yarns, and finally these yarns are woven into fresh new fabric for the jeans and tops. This process saves lots of chemicals and water used to grow new cotton. Also 40% - 50% energy used at the HQ is generated by solar panels on the roof. Kings of Indigo is working towards using packaging and branding on the product that is made from 100% recycled carton.
Kings of Indigo uses innovative and sustainable producJon methods, such as low impact washes and natural dye techniques, where possible. Low impact washes are promoted with Kings of Laundry, where laser and ozone is used to substitute stonewash and bleach finishes.Kings of Indigo NEVER uses sandblasting. Kings of Indigo source their denim fabrics from Italy (Candiani) and Turkey (Orta, Calik, ISKO), and a very small percentage from Japan (Collect).

The jeans are put together in their stitching factory in Tunisia (Artlab), washing and finishing is done in Italy (ElleJ, Martelli) and Tunisia (Interwashing).
Kings of Indigo likes to say the denims are made in the Mediterranean. Leather goods are made in the Netherlands (ArJ) and tops and apparel in Turkey (Konnekt, Avelice, Karadag), Italy (Salgari) and Greece (New power). Their sole factory in India (Indy Blue) is where the natural indigo items are produced. This is where the indigo originates and where the dipping is done with passion for the product.Kings of Indigo has a goal; to make quality products with quality going beyond the product itself. Quality of work environment is just as important. Kings of Indigo cares about the people who make the garments. To help you measure the engagement, Kings of Indigo is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. FWF's mission is to improve labor standards in the clothing industry.
